Developers have committed to spending $150 million on the previously announced Uptown Gateway mixed-use development in Avondale, city leaders anounced Tuesday at a morning press conference.

In addition, Cincinnati City Council plans to approve a 30-year, tax-increment-financing district for the development at the corner of Martin Luther King Drive and Reading Road, and sell several acres of property to the developer for $1.

The project will include the University of Cincinnati’s 180,000-square-foot Digital Futures Building, another office building of equal size and a 158-room hotel on top of a parking garage.

Oakley-based Terrex Development & Construction is the lead developer on the project.
